v 1.0
Hello,
Got this one done in about 6 days. I've been working on and off on multiple larger projects with no end in sight so it was nice to finish a smaller game again. That being said, I think I made too many features for what little little time I left for level design. I think making world elements move backwards is an interesting idea, but it was also harder to make compelling content for than I thought it would be.
The biggest hurdle (aside from my custom text box solution, last time I'm making that myself) was a solution for the projectiles. After some rescoping and experimentation I settled on a solution where projectiles are actually columns of separate hitboxes that move as a single kinematic body. This was to get around a desync that would get progressively worse as two or more aligned projectiles were moved forward and backward between their spawn and endpoints. The result is something that is far less flexible than letting each projectile be their own scene but it actually works.
Overall, super pleased with the result. As with my other jam games I will probably not go back to update this. Going to bed now.
